Submission Guidelines

FairSquare intends to foster a platform for discussion around all things competition and economics, both in India and beyond. As such, we welcome submissions in accordance with the below guidelines from students, academics, practitioners, economists, and anyone else interested. Submissions need not be entirely focused on law and we are open to interdisciplinary pieces as well.

Format and Content:

  1. Blog submissions are recommended to be between 1000-1600 words in length, but this limit is subject to relaxation on an ad hoc basis. We also welcome two-part submissions if the subject matter justifies the same.

  2. The title should be no longer than 12 words.

  3. The content must be formatted as follows: Times New Roman, size 12, justified-aligned, 1.15 line spacing.

  4. All claims and factual assertions must be supported by credible and publicly accessible sources (e.g. original court/CCI decisions for case law).

  5. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and submissions may be rejected in their entirety in cases of significant plagiarism. In case of any references made to other authors’ works, we urge you to accord due credit.

  6. Referencing must be through hyperlinks as far as possible. Any references that cannot be accommodated as hyperlinks, they may be included only as endnotes (not footnotes). Any endnotes must be as per OSCOLA Fourth Edition and formatted as follows: Times New Roman, size 10, left-aligned, single line spacing.

  7. Submissions may take the form of analytical blogs on a contemporary topic under competition law and economics, case comments, opinions, book reviews and responses to an existing post on the blog.

  8. For non-student contributors only: we also entertain short-form submissions of 600-800 words catering to niche topics, recent developments, practical experiences with the law and any nascent contentious issues. These will be reviewed and processed on priority if needed, based on the time-sensitive nature of the topic. Please note that the content for these submissions must be justifiably different from the content for regular submissions.

  9. Co-authorship is permitted up to 2 authors.

Submission Process:

  1. All submissions must be made through this form. Submissions sent via email shall not be entertained.

  2. The form requests submission of a .doc/.docx file. Please refrain from mentioning your name, institutional affiliation or any other personal information in the file. This information is separately requested in the form.

  3. Please identify 2-4 keywords for your submission and mention them in the form (not in the document).

  4. Each submission will be reviewed by one or more editors from the FairSquare Editorial Team on the basis of factors including relevance, style, language and coherence.

  5. The review process may take up to 2 weeks from the date of submission. In case you have not heard back from us within two weeks, please reach out at compsoc@nludelhi.ac.in for an update.

  6. If your submission is preliminarily accepted, the Editorial Board may request revisions. The final publication of the submission shall be subject to satisfactory incorporation of suggested changes. The Editorial Board holds absolute discretion in deciding whether the submission should be published. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Editorial Board will be final and binding.

  7. Upon publication of the article, the copyright over the article shall automatically transfer to the FairSquare: The NLU Delhi Competition Law Society.

  8. We do not encourage simultaneous submissions, but cross-posting is permitted if the same is disclosed at the time of submission of the manuscript in case of cross-posting on this blog. If a published blog is intended to be cross-posted on another platform, it must carry the words “Cross-posted from the FairSquare Blog <link>”.
